VIDEO SESSIONS · TEXAS & INDIANA

You already have
more strength
than you think.

I'm Amanda Walton, a Licensed Professional Counselor. For more than twenty years I've sat with teens and adults through some of the hardest stretches of their lives — serious mental illness, addiction, trauma, grief.

I don't start with what's broken. I start with what's already working in you, and we build from there.

Who I sit with

If you recognize yourself — or your teenager — in any of these, you're in the right place.

ADULTS

Something has been off for a while

Anxiety that never fully switches off, a depression you've learned to work around, a pattern you keep landing in. We name it and then work on it.

TEENS

Your kid stopped talking to you

Withdrawal, anger, self-harm, vaping, school refusal. I meet teenagers where they are rather than lecturing them, and I keep parents genuinely in the loop.

PARENTS & FAMILIES

Everyone is walking on eggshells

When one person is struggling, the whole household reorganizes around it. We work on the system, not just the identified patient.

TRAUMA

The past keeps showing up uninvited

For nightmares, hypervigilance, and the sense of not being safe in your own body. We go at a pace you set — no forced retelling.

GRIEF

Someone is gone and nobody knows what to say

Fresh loss, old loss, complicated loss, the deaths people don't bring casseroles for. There's no schedule you're behind on.

RELATIONSHIPS

The same argument on repeat

When you can't say the thing you actually mean, or it comes out wrong every time. We work on how you communicate — asking, refusing, repairing — until it stops costing you the people you care about.

HOW I WORK

Strengths-based, plainly spoken, no pretending.

Most of my career has been spent with people the system had mostly given up on — folks carrying serious mental illness, active addiction, poverty, and histories most people can't imagine. What I learned there is that nobody heals from being told what's wrong with them.

So we start somewhere else: what you've survived, what you're already doing right, who's in your corner. Then we get practical. You'll leave sessions with something you can actually use.

I'm direct, I'm warm, and I won't be shocked by anything you tell me.

Starting is the hard part. The rest we do together.

Call or text me and we'll talk for fifteen minutes — no charge, no commitment. If I'm not the right fit, I'll help you find who is.
